How to celebrate International Women’s Day online

Every year, on 8th of March, the world gets ready for a great celebration - International Women's Day. This is a great opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements, equality but also recognize a woman’s worth: either your mother, sister, co-worker, friend or wife. We have many reasons to love all of them for what they are and the value they bring into our lives.

With a population of almost 7,3 billion people, women represent about half of them. That means it’s a day when women celebrate themselves and the women around, and men recognize their rights and worth through conferences, messages, love and appreciation. It’s a day when all of us should be celebrating.

The first International Women's Day was held in 1911 when parades and demonstrations were held to promote equal rights for women.

Each year, the celebration had an UN theme and this year is "Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity: Picture it!”. Activists around the world will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, an historic roadmap that sets the agenda for women’s rights. This year we also have a dedicated hashtag #MakeItHappen.

Nowadays, depending on the country, the celebration’s focus is on respect, appreciation and love towards women, but also on women's economic, political, and social achievements. The basis of the day got lost in some parts of the world and people celebrate their love for women, similar to (or a mix of) Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

What you can do to celebrate it?

1. Social Media awareness

Share relevant content using hashtags:

2. Create videos and share them on Social Media

3. Personal Messages

If you choose the more personal approach, send appreciation messages to the women you love. Use the Tyranni Thank you option, the Romantic Pets saying I love you, Eve or any other pack and upload your own photo – even the official International Women’s Day banner.

Here are a few exemples:

Tyranni – I love you, mom!

Romantic Pets – Happy Women’s Day!

Eve – for your best friend

You can do all of them, but don’t forget to let the women you love know what they mean to you. Create a Zoobe video and send it via email, mobile messaging apps, or post it on YouTube, Facebook or Instagram.
