Happy news for Zoobe: seed round & new investors announced!

Great news, everyone! We are excited to officially announce that Zoobe secured a seed funding round which will allow us to take Zoobe to the next level.

At Zoobe we aim to bring a total new experience for mobile messaging, allowing our users to create their personal messages combining 3D animated avatars with their own voice and pictures. We make it possible to anyone not only to express their emotions in a matter of few taps, but also to send those video messages to friends & family both private and publicly. No matter if you are happy, angry, sorry or you are in the mood for some latin dancing, we are the app for surprising the ones you love.

So far, we have built an easy to use product that has evolved into 2 apps for iPhone: Zoobe Pets and Zoobe Eve. It has been a long way full of satisfactions, but our ambitions are not yet fulfilled. While we are working hard to bring our vision of a new way to communicate to the world, we are as well excited to bring Zoobe to as many countries & platforms as possible and making our characters more appealing every day.

For all these reasons, having closed our seed round and bringing new investors to our company is such an important step for us. As our founder Lenard F. Krawinkel puts it: “Through Zoobe, we have created a vision of where personal messaging can go next; fully animated avatars as an extension of our online personalities. This funding secures our immediate future plans, which we cannot wait to share with the world.”

Apart from our existing backers Christophe Maire (Atlantic Internet), Karl-Heinz Brandenburg (Brandenburg Ventures), Dario Suter (DCM), Jens de Gruyter (United Arts Ventures), and Udo Schloemer (JMES Investments), 3 more investors are joining: Thomas A. Curran (former Deutsche Telekom CTO), Lars Dittrich and VC Fonds Technologie Berlin managed by IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft.

“Zoobe represents a novel approach to sending more emotive, bespoke messages that we feel offers something genuinely different in the current market,” commented Christophe Maire. “Aside from the creativity on show in the native character design, we see enormous licensing potential for the future of mobile messaging.”

We want to thank all Zoobe lovers out there who have downloaded the Zoobe apps for your support and feedback, you definitely light our fire! We will do our best to deliver even better Zoobes on the updates to come so we move forward together.

Keep in touch & happy Zoobing!
